12 Day Advent from Inglenook Fibers

This advent was December 25-January 6th and was twelve 0.5 ounce carded mini batts of fiber.

Content: 30% Bond Fleece Superfine Merino Organic Polwarth Silk Bamboo Silk Noil

Wheels: Spun on my Schacht Sidekick Plied on my Woolee Ann

Ply: Traditional 2 ply

Draft: SFD

Yardage: 720

I won the chance to purchase this in a lottery in the Inglenooks fiber group. I was the second to last entry..whew!

Textured thin spins can definitely be a challenge but I decided to just let it flow through my hands. I did, however, draft out the silk noil just a bit so I didn't end up with a really really thing section since twist goes to the thinnest section first.

I split each batt horizontally, turned the batt on its side and spun across the top. No rhyme or reason that just how I spun this spin.

I wound each color into a center-pull ball onto a craft stick until I was ready to ply.

I would definitely do this again next year!
